recent years, Jinan, the inland capital city of a coastal province, has taken an initiative to construct
inland port, motivated by the establishment of inland ports in provincial capitals such as Xi'an,
Zhengzhou, Chengdu and etc. On August 4, 2017, the first China-Europe Railway Express was
launched, which meant that the opening of inland ports was possible and available for inland cities. At the
end of the same year, Jinan put forward the strategy of building an international inland port. The planning
and layout for the inland port was confirmed in 2018. The city announced the special plan for the core area of
the international inland port, and mentioned several times that the port could be a trump card for the regional
logistics center. A series of decisions and actions showed Jinan's determination to establish the inland port.
Necessary conditions in terms of geographical location, transportation, industries and so forth are the
foundation and precondition for establishing an international inland port that combines the land port, airport,
bonded port and information port. In the following sections, there are several advantages that Jinan possesses
for the establishment of the international inland port.
