听民谣,酒吧是处不错的地儿。
A bar is a good place to listen to folk songs.

In the book “Jinan” published in 1936, Ni Xiying wrote that the most popular entertainment for
the people in the urban area of Jinan was listening to drum ballad. There were performing spaces
in the main streets in which the citizens gathered to have a cup of tea and enjoy the singing of the
young women who had a high-pitched tone. It was definitely a pleasant way for relaxation after work.
The phrase Qu Shan Yi Hai exemplifies the golden period for folk art forms which have been thriving
during the development history of Jinan. From Zaju (mixed drama or play) of the Yuan Dynasty and
traditional folk art forms to ballads in modern times, the ever-changing structures of melody, harmony
and rhythm have amplified the unique charm of Jinan city.
