The scenic spot of the Daming Lake has fascinating scenery as well as interesting episodes of various sorts. The love story between Emperor
Qianlong and Xia Yuhe took place in the Daming Lake. There are wonders of the Daming Lake that the water level remains constant
during a long period of rainfall, it never becomes dry even experiencing a long-time drought, no trace of snake has ever been found and
frogs mostly sit in silence.
In fact, these strange phenomenons in the Daming Lake have been known for a long time. According to experts, the water in the Daming Lake
comes from the springs in the south. The water is cool and full of minerals. The frogs in the pond croak because they feel uncomfortable about the
temperature of the water. Once the temperature is suitable, the frogs will be quiet. The water level in the lake never rises despite heavy rain because
there is a northern water gate for regulating water flow. When swollen by heavy rain, the water enters the Xiaoqing River through the northern water
gate. The lake never runs dry because mangy springs join in the water continuously.
