On the theme of “dynamic inheritance, energetic rejuvenation”, the 5th China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo exhibits
intangible cultural heritage in various forms to bring the projects closer to the general public, fully embodying the
richness and variety of China’s intangible cultural heritage, close ties between the projects and the life of the people and
the viability of the intangible cultural heritage.
Unlike the previous sessions, new breakthroughs in terms of arrangement occur. It is divided into eight exhibition areas
according to different categories of traditional handicraft, including embroidery and textile printing, pottery making and firing,
knitting and binding, tea making and brewing, printing and engraving, furniture and four treasures of the study, Chinese herbal
medicine processing, sculpture and moulding. As exhibitions of similar kind are displayed in the same exhibition space, it’s
convenient for audience to visit the targeted area based on their interests and hobbies, enhancing their visiting efficiency and
experience.
By using the Internet, audio and video technologies, the expo is carried out both online and offline. The main venue is Jinan
Shungeng International Exhibitions Center, while a series of activities like “intangible cultural heritage going into communities and
schools””a bite of intangible cultural heritage””world of intangible cultural heritage” are held in communities, villages, schools,
public cultural places, scenic spots and shopping malls synchronously.
