Seventy years went by in the twinkling of
an eye in the course of human history.
During this period of time, Jinan city has
undergone rapid and profound changes.
Jinan ushered in a new era of renewal and
revival with the founding of the People's Republic
of China (PRC) on October 1, 1949.
The devastated city that covered an area
of only 157.62 square kilometers has started
from from scratch. Over the past seven decades,
remarkable development has taken place here,
such as city expansion, rapid economic growth,
tremendous change in transportation and
improvement of people's livelihood. As time
goes on, the delightful city wakes up locals with
spectacular success in every aspect of urban
construction and development. It is making great
strides in accelerate the building-up of an inclusive,
competitive, beautiful, prosperous and well-
connected modern city of Jinan.
History would remember the heroic moments
and the triumphs. We should create a bright future
making use of energy drawn from the glorious past
in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the
founding of the People's Republic of China.
