Seventy years seem to be a short period of time for a city. However, it is an experience of a lifetime for a person over a
span of 70 years.
Therefore, most of the time, memories enshrined in the heart of people allow us to better understand the historic
progress of the city.
The young generation always act of their own free will. The elder generation, by contrast, commit to seeing the past from a
historical standpoint, as most of them have participated in the process of urban development. An elderly man named Quan Ye, a
90-year-old native of Jinan city, has witnessed the transition of society from the old to the new, and the tremendous headway that
the country has made since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He has recorded the rapid and solid progress made
over the past nine decades in a detailed manner. His reminiscence encompasses all aspects of life, becoming the fascinating and
