A large number of jade articles were excavated from the Jiaojia site, indicating that it’s a
tremendously important place for using jade 500 years ago.
In the first half of the year, Jiaojia village in Zhangqiu district, Jinan
city received worldwide attention from the archaeological circle.
In April, when the air is warm in late spring, China’s ten new
archaeological discoveries - the Oscar Award of China’s archaeology -
was announced. Dawenkou cultural remains of Jiaojia village that dates
back over 5000 years was ranked as one of the “2017 China’s Ten Major
Archaeological Discoveries”.
In the scorching summer, “ The Proprieties Originate from the East
- Exhibition of Archaeological Discoveries of Jiaojia Ruins in Shandong”
was displayed in the National Museum of China, providing a chance
for people from all over the country to appreciate the essences of the
Dawenkou culture during two months.
Department of Cultural Heritage and Museology at Shandong
University, which unearthed the ruins of the city that dates back over 5000
years, will help answer questions regarding why the Jiaojia ruins was
selected as one of “China’s Ten New Archaeological Discoveries” and
the significance of its discovery for the research of the origin of Chinese
civilization.
